Edinburgh is one of the world's most beautiful and historic cities. So it makes perfect sense to spend your time here in one of the most beautiful and historic self-catering apartments you will ever call home. That place is Pilrig House - a notable 17th-century Scottish Townhouse (built in 1638), which has a fascinating history and a literary connection with Robert Louis Stevenson. Enviably located on the edge of a tranquil park, the House is only a 15-minute stroll from the city centre.
The private gardens. The period features and light. The wonderful views. Private parking. The sheer history of one of Edinburgh's most interesting houses… our lovely apartments offer you all this.
We are delighted to tell you about our new rental in Pilrig House - the Balfour Apartment - which can be booked now for 15 May 2008 onwards. It will be our largest apartment - sleeping up to 5, and, of course, will be completed to the same very high-spec finish and 4-star standard as both our other apartments.
Our two existing apartments in Pilrig House - the Park Apartment and the Garden Apartment - each have their own unique character & charm. The apartments overlook the private gardens and park, and are beautifully furnished, immaculately presented & extremely comfortable. What they are not, is soulless, in the way that modern, city centre hotel rooms can be, but offer so much more at extremely competitive rates.
This enviable location, surrounded by lush parkland, offers total peace and seclusion away from city traffic noise, and the illusion that you are staying in the middle of the countryside, while being close to all of Edinburgh’s attractions. View our location.
We think that you will find our photographs and eTours very persuasive. But, they’re no substitution for a personal recommendation. Please read our Guestbook.
Thank you for considering a stay at Pilrig House. We do hope we shall see you here in the future.
Debbie and Philip
Staying here wouldn't really be like turning up in holiday accommodation, more like visiting a friend's home - exactly as Philip and Debbie intended it.
